BELL SLEEVES+BOMBER+LWD : KCFW FW'17 SATURDAY RUNWAY OOTD

The sunshine wafts through the giant windows and onto my writing table. Sunshine, after almost a week of incessant rains. Sunshine, you are such a welcome treat to the eyes. Sunshine, you got me dreaming of warmer days ahead, and all the fabulous Spring Styling.

Spring Summer 2017 came with its own repertoire of Trends. As I had mentioned earlier, I wanted to focus on a few trends, in each of my OOTD posts from Kansas City Fashion Week. Stripes, Emerald Enigma(Greenery), Blush and Distressed Denim, Yellow and Ruffles had been done and dusted in the previous posts. Now it was time for something as fresh as Spring Sunshine itself.

For my final Outfit for the Saturday Night Shows of KCFW , I had Bell Sleeves, Bomber Jackets and a Little White Dress, in mind.

Lets start with the Bomber Jacket with Patches. Bombers have been here since last Fall. They are another proof that fashion comes a full circle. I had purchased this silk White Bomber, as it combined two trends for me : Bombers and Patches. If you are in your mid 30s like me, you cant forget the patches of the 90s and how all of us were hooked onto to them. What I loved about the Bomber was the way it juxtaposed androgyny with femininity. The fabric being silk, lent in that romantic side, while the patches added that much needed bit of edge. Needless to say, that its a statmet peice, and can be styled in so many ways. I decided to go for White on White. A White Bomber over a Little White Dress, which had its own statement details : The Bell Sleeves.

A Little White Dress is always a classic piece. Earlier on I had styled the dress by itself, last Summer. If you want to read about it, then click HERE. With Spring, light layers, often become a necessity, without compromising on style. The little white dress with its boho chic vibe, seemed to be perfect compliment to the white silk bomber. As the dress was of chiffon, so the fabric was free flowing, and contrasted the bulk and boxiness of the Bomber , with its feminine silhouette.

Last but not the least, the Bell Sleeves. Statement sleeves have been in the news since last Spring Summer, and they are here to stay. From Bishop Sleeves, to voluminous ruffled sleeves, there's quite a variety to choose from. Mine is a modest bell sleeve. Speaking of Retro Fashion, these sleeves are so reminiscent of the 60s and 70s. I remember going through some old blouses of my Mom, which had such feminine statement sleeves.

Finally the accessories. As I was channeling a retro vibe, I picked out a pair of wedges . The color dark red as pretty prominent in the patches, so matching that color to the shoes, provided some style cohesion. A white and tan hand bag, some dainty orange dragon fly earrings, and red lips. Do we see a pattern here?! Yes, we do. Shades of red , brown and orange to off set the stark white.

Hope all of you enjoyed this Mini Spring Trend Watch on the Blog.
