FLORALS AND WEDGES : 70s STYLE REVIVAL

Retro Revival was a prominent trend all along the runways of Spring Summer'16. Designers were bringing back the 60s and 70s with a new flair. Fashion always comes a full circle its said, after all. I recently attended the Spring Meet Up of The Blog Guild at The Brass on Baltimore recently. I shall be penning down a full recap in an upcoming post. Coming to what I wore for the Meet up. I decided to create my version of 70s Revival while planning my Outfit.

Prints were a big part of 70s fashion. They appeared in crazy color combinations to varied sizes. And who can forget the floral prints which seemed to pop up everywhere. Florals for Springs can be sarcastically scorned by Miranda Priestly at her editorial meetings, but it seemed to fit in with my inspiration theme. I went for a Chiffon Floral dress with a flirty hemline. The flowers on the dress were pretty loud and somehow reminded me of the bold prints of the 70s. Coming to colors, the flowers were in browns and gold rather than the obvious pinks and purple of that era. I guess the muted down colors of the prints is one of ways how the 70s Revival is working now.

My Wedges in burnt red were my second 70s inspired piece in my ensemble. They played up the color scheme of browns and gold. My antique gold necklace from H&M and my Zara rose gold bag with gold studs. I know I have been using this bag to death in many recent posts, but I guess that's what investment pieces are all about. I know its often looked down upon if you combine Blacks and browns, but I feel if you do it right, you can pull it off.

To break the monotony or overload of 50 shades of brown in my outfit I brought in a Cropped Black Blazer to complete the look. I know , I know that the Blazer is a very 90s trend, but its also another example of Fashion Throwback.

For my make up, I went in for Bronzey Gold Eyes and my MAC Mehr Lipstick along with my Everyday Spring Make Up routine.

I was inspired to create this 70s Style Lookbook by Social Print Studio. Be sure to check out their custom photo books and metal prints to being your favorite looks to life.
