BLUE CHRISTMAS DECOR 2021

Blue Christmas! Finally changed my holiday decor color scheme after year. I had been Team Red-Green-Gold, for as long as I can remember. Ever since we remodeled our fireplace this SPring, I had been wanting to go the Blue Christmas route. Shades of blue, along with silver, gold, and teals, were my color scheme this year. Played up the colors, with deco mesh ribbon, normal ribbon, sprays and picks, and of course ornaments. If you like my tree topper, then I made it myself, with sprays and picks, like I do every year. I love how they create an illusion of a taller tree and how they catch the light.

Not only the color scheme, switched up the tree itself. I had mentioned last year, how I felt our tree was due for retirement. So finally got ourselves a brand new flocked tree, with clear lights. Yes, I had grown out of the multicolor lights on my last tree.  We stuck to the same height - 6.5 feet though.

Doesn't it look magical at night, with the shimmering twinkling lights and the fireplace! Every year we decorate for the holidays, right after Thanksgiving, and this year was no different. Our home has an open concept floor plan, so I carry the same design elements throughout the space. For instance, for our coffee table, I used the Christmas ornaments, along with some wooden prayer beads which stay there through the year. Replaced the wicker tray with a golden one, to play off the holiday vibe more.
When it comes to the mantle decor and the formal dining space, all credit goes to my husband, who did it, as I added finishing touches to the tree. He played up the metallics so well, against the blue fireplace, and the raw edge farmhouse dining table.
