PURPLE PASSION OR FUCHSIA FANCY : EXPRESS STYLE FILES

If the runway shows of Fall-Winter'21 were any proof then we know that both Fuchsia and Purple/Violet are huge trends for Fall. I have done a previous post on how I addressed this trend, by adding accessories as pops of color. You can read it Here. This time around, I decided to go all out. Why you ask? For Kansas City Fashion Week, of course. Friday night is the last night of runway shows I am covering this season, so I left one of my newest pieces as the piece-de-resistance. Yes,  a statement satin dress in the season's hottest color. The only problem I have is that is it a shade of Fuchsia or a shade of Purple. Or maybe a mix of both. I will let you decide that.

Where styling is concerned, I stuck to neutrals mostly with a touch of Animal Print - which is another huge trend for Fall Winter 2021. Pearl hoops, nude pumps, and an animal print clutch. Also I had to match my lipstick to my dress - MAC Rebel. Let me know how are rocking this trend, this Fall-Winter.

KCFW SS'21 - MEDIA NIGHT : A RECAP

The last Fashion Week I covered in person was in March 2019. Life threw a few curveballs, as most of you know, and I was away. Got a sneak peek of what’s coming up this season at Kansas City Fashion Week with a media night at Diamonds Direct, in Leawood, Kansas. From designer previews to trying on Diamond Rings, it was the perfect Mom’s Night Out. The runway shows start today and they will be outdoors, at Oak Park Mall. Tickets are still available on KCFW's website - so join me as we scope out the runway trends together!

It's always tricky to decide what to wear to fashion week, especially if you are going back after a few years. I am a denim person out and out, so had to pay an ode to that. It had to be a Denim-centric outfit but had to make it fashion week reday. More details on the next outfit post on the blog.
KCFW shall be hosting its runway shows in a covered parking lot, in Oak Park Mall, Kansas, which has been a longtime sponsor. I am double vaxxed, but it's more reassuring, when it's an outdoor event, personally for me. It is not crazy cold neither crazy hot in KC now, so that makes it perfect for an outdoor runway show.
It was really nice to catch up with the designers before the frenzy of runway shows began. A few of the designers who previewed their looks that evening were Rissa's Artistic Design, who creates the most amazing statement jewelry. The inspiration of Clarissa this season, is Armour.

Next was designer Jo Hartley and her line - Little Jo Designs. Jo is a KCFW veteran who is not only a fabulous photographer but now a seasoned designer. If you saw the bejeweled outfit, you would realize how many hours it takes to create a work of art, like that.
Pamela Lucas of House of Pamela Rene wowed us with their play of monochromes, and straight lines!

I had seen a collection by Ethel and Dean, a few years ago. It was good to see the designer, reinvent herself, and collaborate with Go Ex Apparel, for an ode to sustainable fashion.

And what KCFW event is complete without sharing smiles with your favorite influencer babes, and KCFW Team!

Diamonds Direct in Leawood was so gracious to host us all at the media night! So took the opportunity, to try on an Eternity Band, which has been on my wishlist for so long.

So excited to be back to covering runway shows again, and scoping out trends! Stay tuned to the blog for all things fashion week.

THE PRETTY POSY BOUTIQUE - A SNEAK PEEK

The Pretty Posy Boutique is the newest boutique in town! And they know how to dress everyone, including those of us with mom-bods who refuse to wear Spanx! They open to the public this weekend in downtown Overland Park. Did I mention that they are offering 20% off throughout this weekend! There’s a reason why I love supporting local!

It was so much fun to attend a sneak peek of The Pretty Posy Boutique, and catch up with owner Erin! Share her vision of all things feminine and sophisticated! She is a former elementary school teacher, who wanted to take her love for all things feminine and sophisticated to a whole new level. You know the owner is a mom when she has a corner dedicated to the kiddos so that the moms can shop in peace.

They have the cutest Fall outfits and accessories.  I know it's still warm in Kansas City, but we know those cool Fall days are almost here. I tried on a few pieces, and can you guess which one came home.

Not just that, they have some amazing options if you are shopping for gifts!

Team KES Studio and Team Pretty Posy know how to throw a party. From booze-infused cotton candy to the cutest bites, it was treats galore.

Not to mention scoping out trends while sharing a laugh with your favorite blogger babes!

So make sure you head to downtown Overland Park, Kansas this weekend, for the grand opening of The Pretty Posy Boutique, for 20% , special treats and fun pop ups. Support Local!
