WINDOW PANE & JEWEL TONES : FROM FASHION WEEK TO HOLIDAY PARTIES

And its the most magical time of the year again. The countdown for Christmas has begun, and with it, the invites have started pouring for the Holiday parties. Parties with your girlfriends, parties at work, and the few family holiday parties, that you have to attend or even host. Outfit planning can often take a toll. We want to look festive, we want to look chic and we want to be comfortable, while we host or attend . While you might be reaching out for that red sexy number, which you had picked out months back, for one Holiday Party, how about switching it all up, for another.

I had planned and worn this outfit for Kansas City Fashion Week Spring Summer '17 , but you can clearly take it forward to your next Holiday party.

Bold Colors and Catchy Prints are often in trend, in their various avatars. And I decided to mix them up, when I was planning this outfit. While Green is a traditional color for the Holiday season, I stayed in the same family, but reached out for Jade. Rather than a sexy cocktail dress, I picked out a Mockneck Crop top. For me, I have a problem area in my tummy, so I am always looking for ways to dress, in which I can camouflage that, and highlight some area, which takes the attention elsewhere. In this case, the mockneck brings the attention to the shoulders. And Jewel Tones are clearly a home run.

Window Pane Print has been in vogue for the last two years, and it will surely stay on for some time more. Its surely a bold print, and acts as a perfect compliment to your jewel tones. Its quite versatile and is available in quite a few options. You cant go wrong with it. I paired it in a high waisted Midi Skirt. The skirt adds volume, hence the crop top, balances out the silhouette in keeping the upper frame skinny. The balance is very important. You rarely pair volume with volume.

As far as accessories go, I opted for Kendra Scott's Rayne Necklace in a shocking Pink. It was a complete contrast to the color palette of green and black. As the skirt packed in volume, I tried to create an illusion of length and height with some Patent leather Black Pumps.

I played up the Green, in Jade with a Smokey Eye, with primarily MAC's Humid Eyeshadow. If you want a MakeUp Tutorial for the Green Smokey Eyes, then click Here.
