MAXFACTOR MASTERPIECE MAX MASCARA & HIGH PRECISION LIQUID EYELINER - REVIEW

I have always been known amongst friend and foes for my love for eye make up. Even in a normal day, you will not find me out without my thickly lined eyes and layers and layers of mascara. I could be in my Yoga pants but I would need my eye liner and mascara. for me, they are my Beauty Must Haves, even if I am stranded on a desert island.

Influenster sent me MaxFactor MasterPiece High Precision Liquid Eye Liner and MaxFactor Masterpiece Max Mascara to try out. It was a part of their Endless Summer VoxBox . The best way to try out any new make up is to do a full face and see how they fare through out a day. Sweat, humidity, long hours, oils are all factors which make or break a make up .

REVIEW :
MAXFACTOR MASTERPIECE MAX MASCARA: 
The color that was sent to me was Velvet Black. Its a great shade of Black and I have a thing of pigmented black mascaras. The wand is pretty easy to use. I know some brands have mascara wands which take me quite some time to get a decent application. The black and gold packaging was pretty luxe for a drug store brand. Its priced at   $9.99 . Its available in both the normal and waterproof version. It claims to be a Volume Mascara. I have fairly large eye lashes, so for me it gave me an' Everyday Look,' with a couple of coats. Not Mega Volume.  It did not clump my lashes, and there was so smearing or transferring . Overall a fairly decent drug store mascara.

MAXFACTOR MASTERPIECE HIGH PRECISION LIQUID EYE LINER :
To be honest,  I am not a fan of liquid eye liners. I dont regularly use one. The last time I bought one , was probably a decade or so back. I am gel eye liner or a pencil eye liner person on a day to day basis. So I was a bit iffy about trying out this new product , I must say.

The Paddle shaped brush head was unique. I haven't seen a brush similar to it. It was like the tip of a felt pen for the uninitited . I know many brands have ey liners with such felt tips. This particular eye liner claims to make the Cat Eye simpler. You can draw a broader line along your lashline, by laying the tip of the pen flat, and then pulling along. You can do a thinner line or a flick of the Cat Eye, by using the narrower end of the pen. Some practice and you should be good. The color that was sent tome was again Velvet Black. Like the Mascara, the eyeliner was also pigmented. Nothing looks worse than a chalky black eyeliner.

WEEKEND EYES :
I used the new products along with a  few favorite oldies of mine, to create an easy Weekend Makeup. As the theme of the VoxBox was 'Endless Summer(#ESVoxBox)' so I played with Golds and Browns for the Eyes. For the cheeks I opted for a peachy orange blush to complement.This can be an easy Transition Makeup from Summer to Fall.

FAVORITE MASCARAS

MASCARAS. You can skip Eye liner. You can skip your foundation even. But you should not skip your Mascara. Even on days, when you are running late and want an instant wake me up kinda look, dab on some Mascara on the lashes. Voila !!! Doesnt it make a world of difference .

While I love my High end Makeup for almost everything, its Mascaras , I feel where the Drug Store ones are as good. Or sometimes even better. If you want to go ahead and pick up your Benefit Mascara, go ahead by a ll means. But make sure you have checked and explored all your drug store options before. You will without a doubt get hooked onto a drug store formula for life, like all of us.

Mascaras are usually Waterproof or Normal. I have always gravitated towards the Waterproof Formulas for years. I have had disastrous results when I first started using Mascara in high school. A cousin had let me use her mascara for a wedding we were attending. I had meticulously applied it,only to discover a few hours later that the Humidity in Kolkata had already claimed its latest victim in my Mascara . I had black Mascara dripping down my face at a huge party. Did I mention I was also wearing a sparkling white outfit. It was a disaster. i have learnt my lesson. Whenever i pick up Mascaras, it has to be waterproof. I know you need a good eye make up remover to remove that,but I don't like taking chances anymore.

When it comes to Mascaras, there are few things to consider. How do you want your lashes to Look? Are you look for Length? Are You Looking for Volume? Are you just looking something to resemble false Lashes? Or do you want to Lashes to look Au Naturale? Yes, there are different Mascaras which cater to each of these different targeted areas.

If you're asking yourself how, then let me help you. While the Mascara Formula is more or less the same, its the Different WANDS, which deliver different results.

THE FALSIES by MAYBELLINE
While I have been raving about drug store formulas for so long, its no surprise that my favorite come from the Drug store. . Its the Bomb. I don't even remember how many tubes i have purchased over the years. I always have a new one in stock, so that I never run out of it. The wand packs in Volume and Length. Just like the name suggests, they make your eye lashes look like you have put on Fases Eye lashes. They make your eyes look dreamy yet seductive.

BIG EYES FALSIES by MAYBELLINE
Great choice for your lower lashes. If you do not want to opt for the pricey  Clinique Lower Lash Mascara, then this is a budget alternative. The only problem with the original Falsies was that it was a bit difficult to do your lower lashes with the big flexible wand. Am sure after all the reviews out and about, Maybelline came out with a a different version of their cult favorite. They added two wands to a tube of Mascara . Yes, they added a smaller wand for the lower lashes.Neat. But while the original Falsies want is myuch bigger, the upper lash wand of the Big Eyes is a tad smaller.

VOLUMINOUS BUTTERFLY INTENZA by L'OREAL 
The latest bad boy from the drug store. I usually doubt experiment much with my Mascara as i am scared of Panda Eyes with flaking Mascara. But this Packaging caught my eye, with its extra long name. I had heard of the Butterfly Mascara and the Miss Manga. But the fact that wand was displayed clearly in the packaging, I wanted to try it out. Its a great formula to start with. The wand is conical shaped again with smaller bristles. But it does give that fluttery eye lash effect. Nailed it for sure.

SUPER CURL CURLING MASCARA by URBAN DECAY
My only pick from the High End Mascaras. This wand has much shorter bristles than my usual favorites. No, it will not do the job of an eye lash curler. But it can surely help in packing product at the case of the lashes when you wiggle the wand from the base to the top. Its a good water proof formula, which does not flake after a few hours. And a good size to be carried around town in your bag. The packaging is a beautiful gun metal and very chic.

I might venture out of my comfort zone and try on newer mascara. Till then, these shall remain my loyal favorites, as they haven't yet let me down.
