THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA AND A DENIM SHIRT DRESS

I love my Prada Cat Eye Sunglasses. For me, my Sunglass collection is an investment. Me and my husband have been collecting Sunglasses for quite a few years now. Between ourselves, we have managed to build up quite a stash. It always adds a special touch to any outfit its paired it.

I have been wearing my Denim Shirt Dress on repeat all through Summer. But the days I have paired it with my Prada Cat Eyes, have won me more compliments.Denim Shirt Dresses have been teh rage all Summer across the globe.I am no exception to the trend as I picked out mine. The right length and the right fit always makes the world of difference when it comes to dresses. I am petite, so I am extra careful when I pick out dresses. I don't like dresses which make me look boxy or which highlight my problem areas. I vary between a Size 2 and 4 in dresses and pants. For this Shirt Dress, I tried on Sizes Extra Small and Small. I feel Size Small was a better fit for me. It was loose around my midriff and had a nice length to it. This dress comes with a  thin brown belt, which isn't the greatest, I must say. You can replace it with any thin belt of your choice. As for shoes, I know its not mandatory to match your belts to your shoes, as it can sometimes make you look like from the '80s. But in this case, my Bronze sandals brought in browns with a touch of glitter. Ice Blue nail polish played up the Denim Blues by a few more notches.

Although this dress is perfect for Summer Weekends, it can be a great transitional piece for Fall by switching the accessories. The tie up Sandals can be replaced with some ankle boots and a blanket scarf would be a nice addition. A brand new post , featuring the same dress, in a Fall avatar will be up soon. Stay tuned.

THE RED MAXI DRESS

A lady in red shall always steal the show. Or so I feel. Red is a color which does not have to scream the Holiday season always. It can be a great transition color when the Summer days give way to crisp Fall evenings. This Red printed Maxi Dress screamed out my name when I had first laid eyes on it. I was shopping for my vacation to India and Europe, and was on the look out for dresses which I could layer with a light jacket, if the weather changed. While this dress is a statement in itself, it pairs beautifully with a cropped denim jacket. The waist line does a good job in hiding my tummy bulge without clinging to my body.

As the color of the dress is quite bold, I kept the accessories to a minimum. MAC Ruby Woo on my lips, Rayban Wayfarers, my diamond bracelet, which I wear everyday and everywhere, and zirconia studded red watch completed the ensemble. I had worn it for a picnic, so stuck to ballet flats for comfort.

If you liked my Outfit and would like to purchase any of the items mentioned, I am including links from where you can directly shop.

A RAY OF SUNSHINE : THE YELLOW MAXI DRESS

Its been quite some time, since I did a Fashion Post. The reason for my unfashionable absence, was all my Summer Travelling across continents. Now that I am back, I shall try and share with you all, some of my favorite Outfits at this time of the year.

Summer is flying by fast and swift. And for eternal Summer lovin souls like me, that's not a happy feeling. I am trying my best to enjoy the last few weeks in style. Whats summer without sunshine, right?! My Yellow Maxi Dress is a ray of sunshine, for sure.

Maxi Dresses are a favorite of mine. Being petite I have to be careful about dresses which make me feel boxy or highlight my problem areas. Every now and then, in some random shopping spree will I come across  a dress which will make my heart skip a beat. This Yellow Maxi Dress, which I am rightlfully calling , " A Ray of Sunshine," is a case in point. I scored this beauty just before my trip to Europe and India earlier this Summer. Its one of those dresses which are an instant pick me up. A lace bodice and side slits add just the right touch of pizzaz to this Summer must have. Just a tip when it comes to Maxi Dresses, for my petite readers. If you feel you have found the right dress, but its too long for you, pay a visit to your local tailor, to have it altered to your size. I did get this dress altered in length.

I decided to stick to monochromes in Accessories,  as I wanted the Yellow to stand out. A bold white studded watch, a Zebra printed calf skin purse and some black ballet flats completed my ensemble.

For my Make Up, I went with champagne and brown eyes and peachy pink cheeks and lips. If you want to re-create my makeup, then Light & Easy Summer Makeup Tutorial for a step by step guide.

BOHO CHIC LITTLE WHITE DRESS

Our 7th Anniversary was close by and I felt the sudden urge to pick out another White Dress. This time around, a Little White Dress or a LWD to be specific. No, we were not renewing our wows in the 7th year, but there are times when there is just an inner Fashion Call which you need to address.

The hunt began for the elusive dress.Festival season was just around the corner. The dress idea that I had in mind had to be Boho. I am not in my twenties any more, so I didnt want to dress up like I was in. So body cone dresses were ruled out. I tried on numerous dresses but somehow they didn't make the mark.

Then I came across this beauty.

It was flowy, dreamy, and very Boho I feel. The fabric and the structure of the dress hid my tummy bulge so well. Hail Chiffon and tiny pleats. The dress has a lace bodice, shirred waist and a high buttoned neckline. I loved the bell sleeves. Fashion always comes back in full circles. I had recently done a Post on 70s Revival Fashion, and this dress seemed to be  continuation of the same theme. I paired Nude Pumps with the dress to stick to the lighter tones I was playing up. A pop of Blue(Essie Butler Please) on the nails(Go Royals !) and some Editorial Spring Blue Eyes(which were hidden by my Rayban Wayfarers).
