BLOG TALK KC WORKSHOP ON PINTEREST AT THE SUNDRY

When you are a full time Blogger and you have monetized your blog, you must know the art and science of how to do it right. Kansas City has a great Blogging community. Meet Ups are an awesome way to connect with other like minded bloggers, share a cup of coffee or a cocktail. While some meet ups are just networking events, there are some which are mini workshops. Blog Talk KC Meets Up every alternate month, with a  Mini Workshop on Blogging Tools. This was the thrid Workshop I attended with the. If you want to read about the previous MEETUPS and WORKSHOPS, then click HERE and Here.

Last Thursday we met up downtown at THE SUNDRY, who were gracious enough to let us use their space. I had never been to The Sundry before. I could not stop loving the canary yellow chairs . They are such a pop of color . It was a speciality grocery store, where you could grab a tasty bite, right in the heart of the KC Crossroads district. I loved their house brewed Coffee. I want to go there for Brunch with my husband, and pick up some goodies.

Pinterest was the topic of discussion for this mini workshop . Let me very frank, I had not been very active on Pinterest. My major social media activity is on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Given the fact that Pinterest can be a huge Traffic booster to your blog, I had started to spend some time on it. Mostly I use Pinterest as a visual search engine, like almost everyone else.

Our Speaker for the evening was Angela Muir from Handmade in the Heartland. Angela had a beautiful presentation for us. Some of the important pointers were :
The importance of Rich Pins
Changing your Pinterest Profile from Personal to Business
A target of 25 Pins a Day
50-50 rule of pinning your personal posts versus posts from others
Tall Images
